His representations include successful establishments like City Winery, Sleep No More, The Box, Public Records, House of Yes, Club Cumming, Paragon, H0l0, Cityfox, the early Mirage, Robot Heart, Listed, Loreley, Ninth Street Espresso, Metrograph, and New York City’s first Nightlife Mayor, Ariel Palitz’s club Sutra; and so many more.

Whether building an establishment from the ground up, with business formation, investment structuring, leasing, construction contracts, liquor licensing, to providing ongoing services including human resources, defense of labor issues and other litigation threats, to acquisitions, investments, and liquidity events, Ravi has earned his status as the highest-level advisor and lawyer to New York's best food and beverage and nightlife entrepreneurs.

In 1998, Ravi emerged as one of New York City’s leading liquor and nightlife attorneys, defending numerous gay bars against efforts to shut down dance and music establishments, including LGTBQIA+ and BIPOC safe spaces. As described in New York Magazine, Ravi successfully defeated the administration’s attempt to shut down the city’s then-newest and now-iconic bar, The Cock, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Ravi’s consistent victories have established him as the city’s go-to defender of similar establishments’ right to exist. While times have happily changed, Ravi remains vigilant, ready to protect New York City’s vital nightlife and diverse establishments whenever they are threatened.

Ravi's diverse practice includes clerking with Honolulu powerhouse Paul, Johnson, Alston, and Hunt, focusing on insurance and corporate defense.

In Los Angeles, Ravi entered the world of high-stakes entertainment litigation at Lavely & Singer, clerking under Martin Singer and John Lavely.  During this time, Lavely and Singer represented high-profile clients like Michael Jackson, Tom Selleck, Rodney Dangerfield, Paul Rubens, and Sylvester Stallone.

Before starting his own practice in New York City, Ravi was a trial attorney at the boutique entertainment litigation Law Offices of Barry K. Rothman. Among their entertainment clients, such as Tony! Toni! Tone!, Rothman's firm was retained in 1993 to seek redress against Michael Jackson for alleged torts against a minor.

Ravi began his career in Boston, clerking for  Lewin & Rosenthal and assisted in representing the blockbuster group New Kids on the Block. He also drafted production and performance contracts for renowned actors like Scott Glenn, Mickey Rooney, Balthazar Getty, and Kate Capshaw, which were published as model entertainment forms in the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education series.

In Los Angeles, Ravi focused on entertainment litigation at Lavely and Singer, who represented high-profile clients like Michael Jackson, Tom Selleck, Rodney Dangerfield, Paul Rubens, and Sylvester Stallone. Clients also included production companies, loan-out entities, and merchandising firms.

At Tarver, Clayton-Cox, Ravi worked on the release of Giant Records’ Marvin Gaye: The Last Concert Tour album.

In San Antonio, Ravi worked on age and race discrimination cases under the guidance of civil rights lawyer Larry R. Daves, including handling appeals. Notably, Daves, with Ravi’s assistance, successfully defended the Rainbow Family in the federal case of United States. v. Rainbow Family. This case fought for the right of citizens to peaceably assemble and camp on US federal lands.
